about

"Urban Avant Garde; Grooves For Radicals" is a useful collection of minimalistic, urban based soundtracks, dedicated to further documenting all the sonic test results from Canhead Productions and Q.Rock639.

"Urban Avant Garde:Grooves For Radical" is a revolutionary collection of new age boom-bap, a powerful new style of music, built for suppressing preconceived conceptions of cool.

UAG is a minimal experiment of social soundscaping, empowering mental and physical gyrations while serving as proof that anyone can build their own propaganda machine, and hopefully use it for our collective good!
With a stated objective to reprogram the public consciousness by using music to spread messages and themes of social awareness of all things 'urban' related, UAG:GFR is an excellent body of work.
Jazz and classical standards get a reworking as "Duke", "Tunisians" and "4 My Dawgs" are all based on contemporary standarads. We will leave it up to the listener to figure out which beloved songs are being referenced in the new works of Q.Rock639.

"Garvey" is a song with a speech by Marcus Garvey being the centerpiece of the track, while "Hott!!!(Sizzlin!!!) test the boundaries on sub-bass music, with a nod to reggae and dub music.

Comprised of a dash of ridiculous prose, most of the project is comprised of instrumental songs, continuing the theme of the UAG series. The project is constructed with little concern of public approval and fanfare, the blatantly arrogant expressions of superiority complex in music preferences and tones.

The intro track is divided in attitude, with both a horrific and euphoric feel, and it sets the backdrop for this cautionary yet accessible urban musical project.

The collection could be summed up as a hip-hop instrumental album, but that would be oversimplifying the true idea behind the beats. This is a documentary of sorts, a manifesto in progress. The main theme, as always, is the grooves. This collection attempts to define some of the rules behind the mind, with playlist worthy tracks. Put together, and looked in context with its predecessor project, "Grooves For Radicals" should be studied in detail.
